Biography:
Dr. Akbar is a qualified Computer scientist with a PhD degree in computer networking, a master’s degree in hardware engineering, and a bachelor’s degree in software engineering. His understanding of future technologies through in-depth research and proven experience render him a valuable contributor in a data-driven world. His problem-solving nature leads him to solve several complex problems by publishing over 20 peer-reviewed papers in respective areas, and also in well-known conference proceedings, to help our community.
Personal Information:
Dr. Akbar Majidi is currently working as a Research Fellow with the CONNECT/Enable Research Programme at Trinity College Dublin (TCD), the University of Dublin, Ireland. Before TCD he worked in the Imar research center at Munster Technological University (MTU) Ireland as a R&D specialist. Before MTU, he worked as a scientific researcher at Czech Technical University in Prague (CTU), and before CTU, he worked as a scientific researcher at University College Cork (UCC), Ireland. Back to PhD, he received his PhD from the Department of Computer Science at Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2020. His research interests include holographic communications, 360-degree video streaming (AR/VR), DCNs, SDN/NFV, machine learning systems to contribute to congestion control, and edge computing with network slicing. He has solved a number of unsolvable and very complex problems for the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), and 3GPP cellular network standards by publishing more than 20 papers in respective areas in high ranked conferences, such as IEEE ICNP, ACM ICPP, IEEE GLOBECOM, IEEE LCN, IEEE ICPADS, IEEE PIMRC, and a peer-reviewed journals such as IEEE/ACM Transactions on Networking, IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, Journal of Network and Computer Applications, Computer Communications, etc.
